I've been using things from my stash for my December Daily, instead of buying anything new. I've been avoiding the use of the traditional Christmas Green and Red. I like how it's coming along, but I have to admit, I'm really not used to December NOT looking like Red and Green threw up on it. Especially when I have lots of Heidi Swapp's collection from last year at my fingertips. So this is fair warning that my defenses are weakening and I may just give in at some point.

Since my last post, I've managed to get December third through the sixth done. Here's a look at the spreads.

I've never documented the Christmas music we listen to every year...YES, that's a Justin Beiber CD in there. There are quite a few catchy songs on there, you know...don't judge me. I'll probably add an insert here of a list of my favorite holiday songs.

I used glittered up this wood veneer ornament to give the page a little more pop.

When I bought a Starbucks Christmas ornament, it came in this bag. You can tell I crumpled it up before I realized I wanted to add it into my album. I just put it in as an insert (after running my hands over to flatten it like a gazillion times) and I'll put whatever ephemera I have from the season into it.

I'll write about mine and my husband's date night at his company party on this card, probably from top to bottom, surrounding the part I embellished.

I have officially started working on this December Daily today. While I'm a little behind on Project Life, I am determined to stay on top of my December Daily and make a little time for it every day. I wanted to finish more pages today, but I at least had the chance to finish my cover page and December first. The cover page looks nothing like I first pictured in my head, but I love the way it turned out.

My December first tradition (and ALWAYS the activity for December first on our Advent Calendar) didn't happen. Our artificial white tree that we've had for I don't know how many years now, turned yellow. BUMMER. So unless we wanted a Yellow Christmas instead of a White one, we needed to buy a new tree. Joey and Keilani voted for a fresh one this year, but I'm still on the fence about it.  With late night soccer practices, homework and a couple other things, Our mission to buy a tree will have to wait until Friday. Booooo.

I really want to decorate the the front of this album, but I'm not sure what I want to do yet, so I'll wait on that.

I hopped on board with Ali Edwards' December Daily albums for 2010 and 2011. For 2012 and 2013, I just included it in my Project Life album. Here's a look at the December Daily past...Well, the mini albums at least.

I compared the two approaches I took with my Decembers and I realized I really like the way my mini December Daily albums came out (all dressed up), but I liked the simplicity of December in my Project Life album too. This year, I've decided to put the two together.

I chose the Becky Higgins 6x8 album am steering clear of the traditional Red and Green. I'll use a tiny bit of new holiday paper and goodies, but for the most part, I'll use things I already have in my stash.

I always go into this thinking there won't be that much "christmassy" stuff going on in our lives for me to dedicate a whole album to and every year I'm wrong. I plan on documenting the essence of OUR (my family) life during the holidays. I want to make this album full of only our Christmas traditions, memories words up until December 25. The rest of the month and other every day things in between will go in my Project Life album.

I'll be sharing my progress along the way. Welcome, December.
